As a reminder, the processing and shipping of new, full-validity passports have been suspended worldwide until further notice. As such, Embassy Kuwait does not have any passport appointments available online. We will send a message to all STEP registrants and update our website once we begin to process passport applications as soon as the suspension ends.
U.S. citizens with expired U.S. passports who wish to return to the United States or families with newborn U.S. citizens without passports should contact KuwaitACS@state.gov to apply for an emergency passport. These emergency passports are intended for short-term use, their maximum validity is one year, and Kuwaiti residency cannot be transferred to them.
We understand that your Kuwait residency may be affected if your passport has less than one-year validity, and we have informed the Kuwaiti government of the inability of U.S citizens overseas to receive new, full-validity passports due to the COVID-19 impact on passport operations in the United States.
Reminder:
- The Embassy updates the information on its COVID-19 webpage daily so please check it for the latest information on COVID-19 in Kuwait.
- If you have not done so already, enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive Alerts and messages from the Embassy.
