June 4, 2020: Message for U.S. Citizens: Receiving Your IRS Economic Impact Payment

June 4, 2020

U.S. citizens living in Kuwait may qualify for the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Economic Impact Payment program.  In many cases, payment was automatically deposited directly into the same banking account used for your previous tax returns.

If the IRS does not have your bank information, payments in the form of a check have been mailed to the address on your most recent tax return.  If you believe you are entitled to an economic payment AND have not received a direct deposit AND you listed a local Kuwaiti address as your mailing address on your most recent tax return, please visit this IRS webpage and click the “Get My Payment” button.  If the result indicates that a check was mailed to you, the check may have been mailed to the Embassy.

If you believe your check has been mailed to the Embassy, please complete this form.  We will use the information to confirm if your payment was delivered to the Embassy and will schedule a time for you to pick it up.  Please allow for up to two weeks for Embassy staff to contact you.

Please visit the IRS Economic Impact Payments website for updated information regarding these payments and other tax information.
