Message for U.S. Citizens: Deadline to Express Interest in Possible Kuwait Airways Flight to New York City

April 28, 2020

As a reminder, Kuwait Airways is gauging interest in a commercial flight for U.S. citizens and U.S. Legal Permanent Residents later this week to New York City (JFK International Airport).  The cost of the flight will be similar to the previous Kuwait Airways flight to the United States, which was approximately KD 300 per ticket.

Thank you to those who have already expressed interest in this flight. At this point, the flight is still not confirmed.  Kuwait Airways will only operate the flight if there is sufficient interest.  If you are interested in returning to the United States on this flight, please complete the online form at https://bit.ly/3eUw5VH by 5:00pm today, Tuesday April 28.

The Embassy will use this survey to inform Kuwait Airways of the number of passengers interested in the flight.  If passenger demand is met and the flight is confirmed, announcements about the flight will be sent to all Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) registrants and posted on the Embassy website.  After those announcements are made, interested passengers will be able to make reservations directly online.  Please do not call Kuwait Airways directly to inquire about the flight.

Reminder:

Potential travelers should consult CDC guidance on travel, consider health conditions at their final destination, and remember that they will not be able to return to Kuwait until the airport re-opens and commercial service has been restored.  U.S. citizens who wish to depart Kuwait should also ensure that their travel documentation is in order, that there is no travel ban on their departure, and that they have funds to purchase tickets.

  • U.S. citizens should continue to check the Embassy website and follow our social media platforms for announcements about possible future flights to the United States.
  • The Embassy updates the information on its COVID-19 webpage daily so please check it for the latest information on COVID-19 in Kuwait.
  • If you have returned to the United States, click here to unsubscribe from the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).
