Message for U.S. Citizens – Kuwait suspends the issuance of family and tourism entry visas
Location: Kuwait
Event: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, Department of Residency Affairs suspended the issuance of pre-arrival entry visas for tourism and family visitation from Monday, June 27, 2022, until further notice.
This decision does not affect the granting of entry visas upon arrival for U.S. citizens which are usually valid for a three-month temporary stay in Kuwait. Also, it should not impact the ability of U.S. citizens to apply for residency status for their families in Kuwait. However, it may impact the ability of U.S. citizens in Kuwait to apply for entry visas for non-U.S. citizen family members who are not eligible for visas on arrival.
The Ministry of Interior indicated the suspension is due to the implementation of new processes and regulations.
