Message for U.S. Citizens – Remember to Register to Vote and Send in Your Absentee Ballot

Location: Kuwait

Attention U.S. citizens living in Kuwait:  remember to register to vote and send in your absentee ballot before the midterm general election on November 8!  There is also still time to register and participate in upcoming primary elections in New York and Florida on August 23, in Massachusetts on September 6, and in New Hampshire, Delaware, and Rhode Island on September 13.  Be sure to register as soon as possible if you are a resident of one of those states.  U.S. citizens living overseas may vote absentee in the last state they resided in before moving abroad. In some states, U.S. citizens who were born abroad and have never resided in the United States are still eligible to vote absentee.

Actions to Take:

  • Review the online information about how to register to vote and send in an absentee ballot. This information is available on the U.S. Embassy website’s Voting page and on the U.S. government’s Federal Voting Assistance Program  Follow the instructions to register to vote and obtain and submit and absentee ballot if you want to vote from Kuwait.
