April 8, 2020: Message for U.S. Citizens: Charter Flight Departing Kuwait to Frankfurt on Friday, April 10

April 8, 2020

The U.S. Embassy has been informed of a charter Jazeera Airways flight that has limited seat availability for U.S. citizens departing Kuwait International Airport this Friday, April 10, 2020 at 9:15am to Frankfurt, Germany (Frankfurt Airport). The arrival time in Frankfurt will be 2:00pm.  The cost of a one-way ticket from Kuwait to Frankfurt is KD 190.

At this time, Frankfurt Airport is operational with daily commercial flights to the United States. U.S. citizens will be responsible for all costs and onward travel arrangements from Frankfurt (lodging, final destination, local transportation, etc.).

If you are interested in departing to Frankfurt, Germany, please complete the online form at https://bit.ly/3c2yQSK by 11:30am today, Wednesday, April 8. A form must be completed for each individual traveler. We will close the form at 11:30am and send the information to the EU delegation which is chartering the flight.

Jazeera Airways will contact interested passengers directly for ticketing and payment. Please do not call Jazeera Airways directly.

Potential travelers should consult CDC guidance on travel, consider health conditions at their final destination, and remember that they will not be able to return to Kuwait until the airport re-opens and commercial service has been restored.  U.S. citizens who wish to depart Kuwait should also ensure that their travel documentation is in order, that there is no travel ban on their departure, and that they have funds to purchase tickets.

  • Citizens should continue to check the Embassy website and follow our social media platforms for announcements about possible future flights to the United States.
  • The Embassy updates the information on its COVID-19 webpage daily so please check it for the latest information on COVID-19 in Kuwait.
  • If you have not done so already, enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive Alerts and messages from the Embassy.
