The Embassy has been informed that Qatar Airways is considering a commercial flight for U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents departing Kuwait International Airport within the next two weeks to Washington, DC (Dulles International Airport) and/or Dallas, TX (DFW International Airport), with an overnight stop in Doha. We do not yet know the cost of the flight(s), but we expect it will be significantly more expensive than the most recent flight from Kuwait to the United States, which was approximately KD 300 per ticket (for the March 27 Kuwait Airways flight to New York City (JFK)).
At this point, the flight is not confirmed. If you are interested in returning to the United States to Washington, DC or Dallas, TX, please complete the online survey at https://bit.ly/3aFBT2K by 5:00pm tomorrow, Monday April 6.
The Embassy will use these surveys to inform Qatar Airways of the number of passengers interested in these flights. Please do not call Qatar Airways directly to inquire about the flight(s), as they are not confirmed. If the flights are confirmed, announcements about the flight(s) will be sent to all Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) registrants, posted on the Embassy website, and amplified by the Embassy’s social media platforms. After those announcements are made, interested passengers would make reservations directly with the airline.
- Citizens should continue to check the Embassy website and follow our social media platforms for announcements about possible future flights to the United States.
- The Embassy updates the information on its COVID-19 webpage daily so please check it for the latest information on COVID-19 in Kuwait.
- If you have not done so already, enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive Alerts and messages from the Embassy.
