April 12, 2020
The Kuwait Ministry of Interior has launched an online service allowing residents to extend their temporary residence visa (Article 14) for three months for a KD 3 fee. This is in addition to any overstay fees of KD 2 per day since the visa’s expiration date. This extension also applies to temporary residents who could not acquire residency due to business interruptions. Please note that temporary residence visas are not tourist visas.
To renew online, please visit moi.gov.kw. Fines can be paid at portal.acs.moi.gov.kw using K-Net.
Article 14 visa holders will also need to renew their civil ID cards online before collecting them after government offices re-open. Currently, government offices are scheduled to re-open on April 26, unless otherwise notified.
