The Government of Kuwait’s curfew from 5:00pm to 4:00am remains in place until further notice. People who are found in violation of the curfew order will be imprisoned for up to three years and fined 10,000 KD. Foreign nationals found in violation of the curfew order also risk deportation. Please continue to follow these and all Government of Kuwait directives.
At this time, a full curfew is not in effect. The Embassy is closely monitoring decisions taken by the Government of Kuwait regarding possible additional restrictions. If any additional restrictions are announced, we will send a message to U.S. citizens registered in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) and update the information on the Embassy’s COVID-19 web-page.
We remind U.S. citizens to rely on information from credible and official news sources like the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
- Citizens should continue to check the Embassy website and follow our social media platforms for announcements about possible future flights to the United States.
- The Embassy updates the information on its COVID-19 web-page (https://kw.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/) daily so please check it for the latest information on COVID-19 in Kuwait.
- If you have not done so already, enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive Alerts and messages from the Embassy.
