Administrative Processing DS-5535
3 MINUTE READ

Your application for a U.S. visa is PENDING further administrative processing.

As such, your visa has been denied under Section 221(g) of the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), which means that the consular officer did not have all the information to determine if you are eligible to receive a visa.  Therefore, your case is pending further action.

To begin the processing, you must complete the DS-5535 form at: https://forms.office.com/g/hTa7CACGvk

Please do not complete the form multiple times or inquire about the status of your case.
Do not submit your passport to Aramex until you are contacted by the U.S. Embassy.

There are only two possible outcomes for complete and executed U.S. visa applications (absent a visa sanction against a country under Section 243(d) of the Immigration and Nationality Act). The consular officer will either issue or refuse the visa. If a visa applicant has not established that he or she is eligible for a visa, the consular officer must refuse that application. However, in accordance with Department procedures, a consular officer may determine that additional information from sources other than the applicant may help establish an applicant’s eligibility for a visa.  In such cases, refused visa applications warrant further administrative processing.

Once administrative processing is complete, we will notify you of the outcome via email.  If the visa is ready for approval, we will contact you with next steps.  You will submit your passport to Aramex only after we contact you to do so.  After your visa is printed, Aramex will send you a SMS message indicating at which branch you may pick up your passport.  The U.S. Embassy will not respond to individual inquiries about the status of their application if it is undergoing administrative processing.  Unless we contact you, your application is still processing.
